Indian Women's Super League

The Indian Women's Super League is the proposed top level professional women's football league in the India. To be established along the lines of the male equivalent, Indian Super League, the Women's Super League would last for three to four months in the initial seasons with franchises owned by celebrities.〔 The goal of establishing the Women's Super League is that the league can help Women's football in India gain better professionalism and also for the India women's team to improve in the FIFA rankings.〔 The league is expected to kick-off in mid-2015.
==History==
In early December 2014, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) General Secretary, Kushal Das, gave a presentation on the federation's plans for women's football in India to FIFA.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://sports.ndtv.com/football/news/234678-aiff-plans-to-start-indian-super-league-style-women-s-football )〕 In his presentation, Das stated that the goal of the AIFF's goal for women's football was for the India women's team to make it to the top 40 in the FIFA rankings and eighth overall in Asia. In order to do that, Das stated that the federation would be starting a professional women's football league based along the lines of the Indian Super League, the franchise based league for male footballers in India. According to Das, four male teams have already expressed their desire for gaining a franchise in the league, namely I-League clubs Pune, Bengaluru FC, and Bharat FC.〔
